Once again this has been a busy week filled with many community events.
The gala held at JPC to celebrate our 10th Anniversary brought together parents, ex-students, and staff members from over the past 10 years. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and camaraderie, creating a memorable night that showcased the strong sense of community at the school. A special mention must be made of both the canteen staff for their outstanding culinary offerings, and of the great band made up of our JPC music teachers, setting the stage for a fantastic evening.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of all those who organized this event, it truly was a magnificent first-decade celebration filled with good food, music, and lasting memories.

The culmination of the staff vs. student events for the year has brought a sense of closure, and it's with great pride that we congratulate the students for securing the newly engraved cup. These events have been a wonderful showcase of teamwork, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship on both sides, creating lasting memories and fostering a sense of community within the school community. Congratulations to all those who participated.
This week also marks a significant milestone as our year 12 students approach their final days at the college. The atmosphere has been filled with nostalgia and excitement as they commemorated this special time. The fancy dress days have been a delightful way to celebrate, allowing them to dress up as something starting with the letters J, P, or C, or even as their childhood heroes for example. These festivities not only added a touch of whimsy to their last week but also served as a reminder of the unique bonds and memorable experiences they've shared during their time at the college.
It's a bittersweet farewell as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their academic journey. We wish both Year 11 and 12 well for their exams next week and look forward to the end of year celebrations continuing over the coming weeks for our Year 12 cohort.
Students and staff alike had gone to great effort to make this time incredibly memorable and special for me. Students from each House spoke so kindly of me, often also referring to the values of their House Patron in a way which made me very proud. It was clear in what they said that they have truly internalised the values that we share here at JPC and that they know how important these values are. Every House also gave me a beautiful gift – each one clearly carefully chosen to bring me joy and to be a lasting memory for me of JPC.
My words of thanks to the community were quite inadequate. My ten years at JPC have been rewarding in so many ways and I feel truly blessed. I have been incredibly privileged to have been part of such a special community.

Song Wrinting Workshop with Anthony Snape
On Wednesday the 9/10 Music class had a song writing workshop with Anthony Snape who was the support act for Tommy Emmanuel’s Australian tour which the semester 1 9/10 class had the privilege of seeing at the Canberra theatre.
While at the concert back in May, the class entered a competition which was to win a house concert that Anthony would come and play at. Of the thousands that entered, our very own Evan Ball was the winner! Evan could have had Anthony Snape come to his house for a concert but instead, he chose to have Anthony come to school to deliver a workshop for the whole class.
Thank you Evan for being so giving of your prize, it was amazing having Anthony with us.
Tuesday tunes has started again on a high with some top-notch performances from our year 9/10 students.
