Hands-On History & Geography Kicks Off Term 3

We’ve had a very exciting start to Term 3 in Humanities and Social Sciences!

Our Year 7 students were fortunate to engage with real artefacts brought in by historians and archaeologists from the Australian National University Classics Department. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of ancient history and archaeological methods.

Meanwhile, our senior History students visited the ANU Classics Museum. There, they explored the collection, spoke with museum staff, and learned about the complexities of museum curation—including discussions around artefact ownership and restitution.

Thank you to Mr Lachlan Arundell and Mr Damian Veltri for organising these enriching experiences, and to the ANU Classics Museum for hosting us.

In class, our Year 7 and 8 students have launched into new Geography units. Year 7s are studying “Water in the World,” exploring the water cycle, while Year 8s are investigating geomorphic processes that shape landforms. Our Year 9 and 10 cohorts have settled into their new classes and are already diving into engaging topics.

We look forward to another productive and enriching term!
