Message from the Assistant Principal - Strategy and Staff
Last Tuesday 25 March, Catholic communities celebrated the Annunciation, a significant day in the Catholic calendar. This day, exactly nine months before Christmas, commemorates the moment when the Angel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary to announce that she would conceive and become the mother of Jesus, the Son of God. The Annunciation is a profound reminder of Mary's faith and obedience to God's will, and it marks the beginning of the Incarnation, when God became man. This celebration invites us to reflect on our own faith and openness to God's plan in our lives.
Was Mary scared? Absolutely. The angel had to give her some relief, telling her: “Do not be afraid.” Mary’s fear turned to faith, and then to humility as she recognised that God does—and would continue to—do great things through her.
As we continue in this Lenten season, I hope we are all able to recognise where God is calling us. Let us also “not be afraid” to follow the path of Mary, asking God to turn our fear into faith, believing that our efforts contribute to the dream God has for the world.
Final Two Weeks of Term
As we enter the final two weeks of term, I encourage all students to remain focused and dedicated to their studies right up until the last day. This is a crucial time to consolidate learning and ensure that all assignments and assessments are completed to the best of your ability. Let us finish the term strong and continue to embody the values of justice, peace, and courage in all that we do.
Uniform Reminder
With the cooler mornings upon us, we also remind students and parents that non-school uniform hoodies, jumpers, or jackets are not permitted. These items will be confiscated if seen. Please ensure that students are wearing the correct school uniform to maintain our standards and show pride in our college community.
Invitation: JPC Library Opening
We warmly invite all JPC parents to attend the official opening of the JPC College Library on Tuesday, 8 April (Week 10). RSVP is essential—please see the attached invitation in this newsletter for details.
As always, there have been many other wonderful things that have occurred at JPC over the last couple of weeks. We thank all of those involved in these activities and for the collective effort to make them a success.
