Teaching & Learning - Introduction

TEACHING & Learning.png
We hope all students have settled back into the routine of school for 2024. The following is teaching and learning news for the new year.

Results from 2023

It is with great pride and excitement we share the outstanding achievements of our 2023 Year 12 Graduating cohort. Both students choosing to study Tertiary or Accredited excelled in their chosen courses and have gained positions in apprenticeships, traineeships, university, and other further study options.

Of the students studying a tertiary package 96% of our cohort achieved a score of above 60, a score which means a student can gain a university place. In addition, 45% of students studying a tertiary course scored above 80 and 23% of students achieved a score above 90. Eleven per-cent achieved scores above 95. Congratulations to the Dux of the College Kian Cox who achieved an ATAR of 99.0, followed closely behind by Georgia Ellison with a score of 98.5. Congratulations to all our students for the effort they have put into their learning and the community over the past two years.

The excellent achievement of students who completed an Accredited Package, saw many students achieve places in apprenticeships, traineeships, and further study opportunities. A special mention to the graduating students who completed an ASBA alongside the requirements of the Year 12 Certificate. Students who complete ASBAs need to balance the demands of on-the-job training, often with external study at CIT on top of their schoolwork.

Beyond the classroom, our graduating cohort has actively participated in community service and engagement initiatives. Their commitment to making a positive impact has been evident through their participation in coaching school sporting teams and involvement in the school musical through to supporting younger students in cross-age tutoring. A special mention goes to the graduating students who are the first in the school to complete their Certificate II in active volunteering.

Thank you to the teachers, families and friends who have supported such wonderful achievements.
