ANU Holiday Programs - Year 11 and 12
The ANU are running two holiday programs for students in Year 11 and 12:
ANU Actuarial Studies Experience Day - Thursday 3 October
Visit the ANU campus for a hands-on Experience Day that introduces senior high school students to the actuarial profession. Engage in interactive workshops in actuarial studies with our expert academic staff, meet our current students and tour the vibrant ANU campus. Get a taste of what it is like to be a student at the ANU!
ANU College of Business and Economics School Holiday Program - Tuesday October 1 and Wednesday October 2
Visit the ANU campus and experience what the ANU College of Business and Economics has on offer. Engage in interactive workshops in finance, economics, accounting and business management with our expert academic staff, meet our current students and tour the vibrant ANU campus. Get a taste of what it is like to be a student at the ANU!
Department of Home Affairs Gap Year Program
The Department of Home Affairs Gap Year Program provides an opportunity for people who will complete Year 12 in 2024 to join our dynamic workforce dedicated to keeping Australia prosperous, secure and united.
Our 12-month entry-level program allows participants to build their knowledge and diverse skills whilst carrying out meaningful and important work. The Gap Year Program provides a supportive learning environment working as part of a team; and includes a comprehensive learning and training program throughout the year, along with support from supervisors and the Entry Level Programs team.
Applications close on 8 September 2024.
Work Experience Opportunity - Dance Fest
We are asking for expressions of interest from Years 11 and 12 or students 15 years+. Ausdance ACT runs a working experience (WEX) program as part of Youth Dance Festival, if you would like to participate, please contact our WEX Coordinator Cerridwyn Murphy at: cerridwyn.murphy@gmail.com, or the YDF address: ydf.act@ausdance.org.au
Students will gain experience coordinating management of a show with lots of people backstage and observe different theatre departments like lighting, sound, crewing, stage management and marketing. There are limited WEX positions available.

Cyber Hack
UNSW Canberra is thrilled to team up with CBRIN to bring you an immersive and interactive cyber mini hack. Dive into the world of cyber security as you:
- Master Lockpicking: Learn the art of lockpicking and discover the parallels between physical and digital security.
- Explore Intelligence Techniques: Uncover the strategies used by cyber professionals to gather and analyse information.
- Capture the Flag: Join forces to tackle technical challenges in an exhilarating Capture the Flag competition.
Who Should Attend? Registrations for the cyber mini hack are exclusively for those aged 17-22 years old who are interested in trying out some cyber activities and learning more about the Bachelor of Cyber Security at UNSW.
Technology Opportunities for School Leavers
Last week, some of our Year 9-12 students attended the Big Day In technology conference at ANU. There were guest speakers and stallholders from a variety of big tech organisations such as Westpace, WiseTech Global, OpenText, Australia Signals Directorate, Australian Space Diversity Alliance, IBM and Defence.
WiseTech Global spoke about their earn and learn program for Year 12 school leavers. WiseTech's Earn & Learn program gives you a full-time, paid job as a software developer while also supporting you through a four-year university degree.

Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) webinars
The Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) processes applications for admission to most undergraduate courses at participating institutions (located in NSW and the ACT).
Applications for 2025 entry are now open and Year 12 students can submit applications up until the end of January.
Early bird applications close on 29 September. After this, the fee increases significantly.
There are some upcoming webinars with information for Year 12 and the Educational Access Scheme.

SPRING CAMP
The School of Project Management will be running their in-person Spring Camp on Friday, 4 October for students in Years 10-12.
This program offers an interactive opportunity for students to develop awareness of project management as a discipline, career pathways, the Bachelor of Project Management, and hear from industry professionals, academics, current students and alumni.
Past programs have included site tours to Google, Atlassian and Western Sydney Airport. Register your interest in the link below:
