Student Spotlight: Emily B - Events Traineeship
Current Year 12 student Emily is another one of our ASBA/Trainseehip students.
Where are you currently working and what are you currently studying?
I am currently working at Capital Hotel Group; they own 3 hotels within Canberra, and I am based at The Pavilion on Northbourne. I am currently studying a Certificate III in Events at CIT.
What do you enjoy the most about completing a Traineeship?
What I enjoy most is being at work on a Thursday and learning new things from experts within the events field as well as being given the opportunity to complete and apply what I have learnt.
What has been challenging about completing a Traineeship?
The most challenging thing that I have come across is keeping up to date with my CIT work and my schoolwork, you really have to manage your time well to not get stressed or overwhelmed.
What do you hope to achieve after you finish Year 12?
After Year 12 I hope to have a successful career in event management and to continue learning and get my diploma in Events.
What advice would you give students looking to get into the Event industry?
A Traineeship is a great way into the Events industry as you get a vast range of experience in different types of events while also studying giving you a jump start into the events industry.
Below are some Wedding events I have worked on!
